Request a quoteButterfly valve is a quarter-turn valve that used to start, stop, and regulate flow in pipeline system. It has a disc which is mounted on a shaft. By turning the handle in quarter turn, the disc will turn to open position or close position. When the valve is turn to open position, the disc move away from the seat and is parallel to the flow. In the close position, the disc is perpendicular to the flow and sealed by the seat. Partial rotation of handle is applicable for throttle application. It is design and manufacture according to API 609 standard. Inspection and testing had been carried out according to API 598 standard. Butterfly valve is widely installed on solid liquids application such as oil and chemical, water supply, fire protection, and wastewater treatment at low pressure.
Butterfly valve is available in cast iron material, which relatively result in low cost with standard performance. A blue color external paint had been applied on valve body to enhance the corrosion resistance. The seat is available in EPDM material which fit on the disk edge to provide sealing to any leakage.
Butterfly valve is made in lug type design. The design of lug type butterfly valve is similar to wafer type where it also have short body length, however it is come with threaded bolt hole outside of valve body. The number of threaded bolt hole is depend on valve sizes, 4 hole option is available for sizes below 4” while 8 hole option is available for sizes above 4”.
For lug type butterfly valve have threaded bolt hole outside the valve body. A number of bolts set is connecting the two flanges by tighten bolts to each side of threaded bolt hole with butterfly valve place at center.
