It is known as a quick release coupling, quick coupler, or quick coupling. Quick coupling are supplied to a wide range of application such as agricultural, chemical, and hydraulic applications. They can tolerate up to 950 Bar working pressure . The materials used to fabricate quick couplers are steel and stainless steel .
Quick Connect Fittings are a type of fitting that provides a means to quickly break the connection of fluid lines without substantial loss of hydraulic fluid. The standard of quick connect fittings are according to the design including ISO 7241-A, ISO 7241-B, Gromelle W6000 and Hansen W6000 which are exposed to different industrial uses. Furthermore, this fitting is also called quick release coupling, quick coupler, or quick coupling.
Quick coupling is used in many fields such as agricultural, chemical, industrial, hydraulic applications and the offshore industry. For example, the design of W6000 series allowed it resistance to heavy mechanical loads such as hydraulic shocks, ram loads, and severe pulsating pressures. While design of ISO 7241-A allowed it to be applicable on fluid transfer, asphalt paving, refuse hauling, truck trailer connections, and many more. For ISO 7241-B design, it is suitable for industrial hydraulic lines, food processing, water lines, high pressure and high temperature fluid transfer, cleaning equipment, and steam systems.
ISO A Quick Connect Couplings
Quick coupling are available in the following materials:
The pressure rating for ISO-A fittings is up to 350 bars, ISO-B 400 bars and Gromelle 6000 equivalent is up to 950 bars . The size of the quick coupling also affects the maximum working pressure. In general, the greater the size, the lesser working pressure that it can withstand. Quick release couplings are available in inch sizes ranging from 1/4" to 2" . The fitting safety factor is 4. The following table shown the working pressure of quick connect fittings according to different size and standard:

ISO B Quick Connect Couplings
Quick connect fittings are connections that can give an immediate solution for simple flow transfer from one direction to the other. Parker, from the United States, is a well-known brand of quick connect fittings in the market.
Here are the advantages of using quick connect fittings:
To enhance compatibility in different applications, a wide range of body and seal materials are offered . The following table shown the different quick coupling standard with its main features:

Quick couplers are normally differentiated by two parts which is male and female. The male part is also commonly called plug or nipple while the female part is commonly called socket or coupling. For the threaded end at the both end of quick coupler, there are two types of thread available: NPT (National Pipe Thread) or BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel).
For different series of quick couplers, there are different of connection between male and female. For Gromelle W6000 or Inteva 203 series, the connection between male and female is screw-to-connect type. While for ISO 7241-A, ISO 7241-B, and Hansen W6000, the connection between male and female is push-to-connect type.
ISO 7241-A standard: It is adaptable for use in hydraulic applications such as equipment maintenance or system operation. A poppet valve or a ball closing mechanism is used in the fitting design. To keep the valve aligned and avoid flow duplication, a poppet valve and a metal perch are employed. The coupler sleeve and nipple body are strengthened for durability, and the standard end configurations include female pipe and straight thread NPT or BSPP.
ISO 7241-B or Parker 60 standard: They are poppet valves with a metal-to-metal valve stop keeping the valve aligned. It was designed to prevent flow duplication. Female pipe thread of NPT or BSPP is the typical end configuration. It is often used in applications with a shorter life cycle and no significant cyclic pressure changes, and it is effectively applied under steady pressure throughout an operating cycle. Mine roof support systems, hydraulic jacks, and high pressure fluid transmission are examples of common applications.
Screw end Gromelle W6000 or 203 Series TGW: Quick couplings are used to quickly and conveniently join pipes in high-pressure inline systems and high-impulse hydraulic applications. The 203 Series TGW screw locking mechanism provides outstanding resilience to high hydraulic pressures. This quick coupling is intended for use in extreme situations involving hydraulic shocks, system vibrations, or hose bending.
