Ordering & procurement

Ex-stock in Singapore, dispatched within 3 working days. Order by AF Hydro part number (for example F-P-POM-AF-C-PU-08 for an 8 mm union coupling) or simply tell us the fitting type and tube OD. Nylon and PU tube can be supplied together with the fittings.

Product information

Push-in fittings — also called push-to-connect, one-touch or instant fittings — connect flexible pneumatic tube without tools, ferrules or thread sealant. The tube is simply pushed into the fitting: a stainless steel collet grips the tube and an NBR O-ring seals against its outside diameter. To release, press the collar and pull the tube out. They are the standard way to plumb compressed-air and pneumatic control circuits on machines, and Chuan Kok holds the full AF Hydro range for 4 mm to 12 mm nylon and PU tube ex-stock in Singapore.

1. Which push-in fitting types do you stock?

The AF Hydro push-in range covers eight tube-to-tube configurations. All are for tube on every port (no threaded ports), so you can build a complete pneumatic line from tube and these fittings alone.

PU — Union CouplingStraight, joins two tubes of the same OD
PG — Reducing UnionStraight, joins two tubes of different OD
PE — Union TeeEqual tee, three tubes of the same OD
PEG — Reducing TeeTee with a smaller branch tube
PV — Union Elbow90° elbow, two tubes of the same OD
PY — Y-SplitterSplits one tube into two of the same OD
PYW — Reducing Y-SplitterSplits one tube into two smaller tubes
PZ — Union CrossFour tubes of the same OD

Equal types come in 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm. Reducing types come in 6×4, 8×6 and 10×8 mm as standard, with further combinations (8×4, 10×6, 12×8, 12×10) listed in the dimension tables below.

2. What pressure and temperature are push-in fittings rated for?

The catalogue rates the range for a working pressure of 0 to 1.0 MPa (0 to 10 kgf/cm², about 145 psi) with a maximum of 1.6 MPa, and a vacuum rating of 750 mmHg. The working temperature range is -20°C to 70°C. Typical plant compressed air runs at 0.6 to 0.8 MPa, well inside the rating.

These are pneumatic fittings for low-pressure air, vacuum and water on flexible tube. They are not hydraulic fittings — for oil hydraulics at 100 bar and above, see our hydraulic compression fittings or JIC fittings.

3. What tube should I use with push-in fittings?

Use nylon (PA) flexible tube or polyurethane (PU) tube with a metric outside diameter matching the fitting: 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 mm. Push-in fittings seal on the tube OD, so the tube must be round, cut square and free of scratches at the end. Imperial tube (1/4", 5/16", 3/8") does not seal reliably in metric fittings — check the marking on the tube before ordering.

Soft PVC hose is not suitable: it deforms under the collet and can pull out under pressure. If you also need tube, ask us to quote nylon or PU tube together with the fittings.

4. How do you connect and release a push-in fitting?

To connect:

  • Cut the tube square with a tube cutter (not pliers or a knife) and check the end is clean and round.
  • Push the tube firmly into the fitting until it bottoms out — you will feel it pass the O-ring and stop.
  • Pull back lightly on the tube to confirm the collet has gripped it.

To release:

  • Depressurise the line first.
  • Press the coloured release collar squarely towards the fitting body and pull the tube out at the same time.

Fittings can be connected and released many times. If a tube end is scored or has been released repeatedly, trim off about 10 mm and re-insert.

5. What are push-in fittings made of?

As printed in the AF Hydro catalogue, the body and positioning ring are aluminium alloy, the tube interface and positioning seat are POM (polyoxymethylene / acetal), the gripping spring washer (collet) is stainless steel, and the O-ring and rubber pad are NBR. The fittings are finished grey / black with a blue release collar and are marked with the tube size on the collar.

6. How do I read the AF Hydro part number?

Part numbers follow the pattern F-P-POM-AF-C-[TYPE]-[SIZE]. The type code is the fitting shape (PU, PG, PE, PEG, PV, PY, PYW or PZ) and the size is the tube OD in millimetres, with reducing fittings showing the larger size first. Examples:

F-P-POM-AF-C-PU-088 mm push-in union coupling
F-P-POM-AF-C-PE-066 mm push-in union tee
F-P-POM-AF-C-PG-10-0810 mm × 8 mm push-in reducing union
F-P-POM-AF-C-PYW-06-046 mm × 4 mm push-in reducing Y-splitter
F-P-POM-AF-C-PZ-1212 mm push-in union cross

FAQ Of Push-in Fittings

What sizes of push-in fittings do you stock?

Metric tube OD 4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm and 12 mm, plus reducing sizes such as 6×4, 8×6 and 10×8 mm.

What is the working pressure of push-in fittings?

0 to 1.0 MPa (10 kgf/cm²) working pressure with a 1.6 MPa maximum, and a vacuum rating of 750 mmHg.

Can push-in fittings be used for hydraulic oil?

No. They are pneumatic fittings for compressed air, vacuum and low-pressure water on nylon or PU tube. For hydraulics, use compression or JIC fittings.

Do I need any tools to install push-in fittings?

Only a tube cutter to cut the tube square. The tube pushes straight in and is released by pressing the collar — no wrenches, ferrules or sealant.

Are push-in fittings reusable?

Yes. The tube can be released and re-inserted many times. Trim a worn tube end before re-inserting for a fresh seal.

Which brand of push-in fittings do you supply?

AF Hydro. The full catalogue with dimensions and part numbers is available to download on this page.
